Savannah Weekend Getaway Itinerary: Bachelorette Party Edition

Gather your besties, don the matching sparkly shirts, and head to Savannah for the perfect bachelorette party weekend. (If the budget allows, book a room at a local inn or bed and breakfast to experience all of Savannah’s charm!)

Start the weekend off right by wandering the city in style. Whether you want to hop on a boozy bike cruise around the city or tackle the task by foot, the best way to get to know Savannah and see as much as possible in a short amount of time is to get lost in the picturesque squares and cobblestone streets. If you’re weary of walking a great distance after a morning/afternoon spent traveling, then opt for a hop on/hop off trolley tour to cart you around. You’ll be able to check out unique spots, linger at one place or another, and then simply hop back on the next trolley to head to the next location.

Next on the itinerary for your first night in the city is dinner. The Hostess City serves up plenty of Southern charm, so try and find a local spot with classic downhome food. Almost everywhere you look will have a stellar restaurant, but a few popular Southern-style ones include Mrs. Wilkes Dining Room, The Olde Pink House, and Elizabeth on 37th.

Once your bellies are full of good ole comfort food, it’s time to hit the roof…top bars. Savannah is speckled with sky-high establishments that serve dangerously delicious drinks. For a really stunning view, try one of the bars closer to the water, such as Rocks on the Roof.

Contrary to popular belief, Saturdays are for the girls. Start the day with breakfast in bed, then hit the spa. The Heavenly Spa at the Westin Savannah Harbor Golf Resort & Spa is just as the name suggests: everything you’d possible need to feel pampered and positively relaxed.

Once you’ve had all the facials, massages, pedicures, manicures, and sauna experiences a girl can handle, it’s time to shop ‘til you drop. Savannah has bustling Broughton Street, but the fun of a city lies in the hidden gems off the main drag. Savannah is full of cute boutiques, especially in the Starland District. This up-and-coming area stretches from the edge of Forsyth Park to Midtown and features a collection of vintage stores and trendy shops.

Finally, end the day the best way: food and drinks – round two. One of the many wonderful things about Savannah is the ability to wander the city, drink in hand. After you’ve dined at another of the city’s finest establishments, order your favorite drink to go, and start bar hopping with the gals.

In case you partied too hard last night, sleep in and start the day with a (perhaps boozy) brunch. The Funky Brunch Café is a crowd pleaser. Fueled by mimosas, pancakes, and all things breakfast, it’s time for your final to-do on the list: Walk around River Street. One cannot come to Savannah and miss the iconic, world famous River Street experience. Cobblestone streets, waterfront views, the smell of freshly made candy, and plenty of shops to duck into—it’s the perfect way to end your stay.
