Educational Tour

Ding ding! The school bell is ringing and it’s time to step inside for a unique look at Savannah’s history…

It’s time to go to the head of the class, y’all. The Massie School, known as the state’s oldest school in continuous operation, educated hundreds of young Savannahians. The building’s beautiful architectural features include the gable roof, wood cupola and cornice, and its unique connecting passageway.

The historic 1856 Greek Revival school house offers visitors the chance to learn about Savannah’s many architectural styles, the earliest inhabitants of the Georgia coast, the historic preservation movement in the city, and what school was like in “The Nineteenth Century Classroom”.

This package includes the Historic On/Off tour and a tour of the Massie Heritage Center.
